GracefulArts is the place to find beautifully handmade items to give the special people in your life as gifts, and to collect for yourself. My dream for a very long time has been to create lovely things, by hand, for others. I have done this much of my life for friends and family, but am now taking my endeavors and my creativity to a new level, and I have found great joy in this. So, come on into my GracefulArts studio and take a look!
It's All About Color
All of my handmade items revolve around a central theme of color! I make jewelry from beads of every color in the rainbow. Beads of varying sizes and shapes, originating from many different places. I so enjoy the creative process of combining all the elements into a resulting beautiful piece of jewelry.
I use this same sense of color and design in everything I create. I have sewn clothing and things for my home most of my life. In more recent years, I have learned the art of quilting, which involves much more design and artistic endeavor, which is probably why I am enjoying it so much!
I absolutely love the thrill of making things that are beautiful and I enjoy making many different types of things. Currently being offered are the following:
Handmade, pieced, and free-motion machine quilted quilts in both lap and crib sizes. Though larger bed size quilts are entirely possible, I prefer to custom make them to my customer's specifications.
Oversized and double-layered quilted flannel baby blankets. I make mine extra large at approximately 40" square, and I choose only cute and colorful prints in 100% cotton flannel.
Colorful and creative, my beaded necklaces are the kind I would wear myself, because that's how I came to enjoy beading. The same can be said about the other accessories, both the scarves and the bags, that I make.
I also make note cards, and gift enclosure cards, because I enjoy paper every bit as much as I do fabric and beads! I've been collecting paper since long before scrapbooking ever came along. I make note cards because they can be used for nearly any writing purpose, unlike, say, a birthday card! I like the little gift enclosure cards because they're decorative, big enough to write a little note, yet small enough not to need an envelope and a "letter" written inside. I often include a complementary selection of these little cards with my customer's orders as a thank you for shopping at GracefulArts.
Shop handmade for items that are one of a kind, for things that are creative and artistic, and never popped-out-of-a-mold mass produced. I saw a sign in the Bahamas some time back that said, "Here we think of mass produced as being made for you and a friend." I love that!
